Pop Pop Pop in Colorful Warsaw

I had the honor and pleasure of taking part in the POPełnione – Pop Pop Pop series of pop-up exhibitions, taking place in Warsaw, Poland. Curated by Tusia Dabrowska and Aleksandra Szczodry, the series examined Warsaw as an artistic crossroad between cultures and artists. Each event was dedicated to a specific building block of visual arts: Lines, Scale and Color. I took part in the third event, Pop/Kolor, that took place in Bracka 20, an amazing old building that was planned to undergo development shortly after the event.

In the exhibition, I presented Soup of Life, my collaboration with Omer Markovitch. For the performance, I presented Overhear and read a long poem based on it.

The other artists, in addition to the curators, were: Yui Akiyama, Filip Dowjat, Julia Junosza-Szaniawska, Katie Krawczyk, Julia Kurek, Milosz Pękala, Wiktor Podgórski, Peter Shapiro, Madison Tymickiej, Wojtek Tymicki, Laurent Granie and Tomkowi Januchcie.

I had an amazing experience in Warsaw, thanks to my hosts, Tusia and Wiktor, the artists and the audience. It was my second time in Warsaw within a year, and I personally feel that the rumors about “The Next Berlin” are not unfounded. I had a great time and I hope to be back soon.
